About Tuolumne Township Citizens Group (TTCG)

The Tuolumne Township Citizens Group is working with local organizations on a variety of projects. The group was very involved in the Tuolumne Community Plan that was approved a couple of years ago, and is still working with the county planning department to encourage the implementation of the approved plans. TTCG is also working with the Tuolumne Park & Recreation District on the Tuolumne Library & Youth Center community recreation and parking lot project.
Another project of the TTCG is the bi-monthly TTCG Newsletter which provides news and information on events happening around the Tuolumne area. Local organizations are welcome to submit articles to the newsletter, which is distributed to some 1600 households in the 95379 zip code. Advertising in the newsletter by local businesses allows the continued publication of the newsletter. Businesses and individuals are invited to make donations to this publication, and all donations are greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you are interested in advertising in our newsletter.

Tuolumne has seen its share of ups and downs, and while our downtown area has seen a decrease in the number of businesses, it is still providing a wide variety of needed services, such as a dentist office, a hair salon, two real estate offices, an insurance agency, a tattoo parlor, a grocery store, a medical clinic, a pharmacy, the post office, the local elementary school, the high school, a private Christian school which also houses a thrift store, an apple ranch that is open year round. The casino is also in town, and provides restaurants, gas station and bowling in addition to the traditional casino amenities. The casino's new hotel is scheduled to open within the year.   Outdoor activities include Riverside Picnic Grounds, camping at River Ranch Campground, as well as our beloved hiking trail at the old railroad grade, which is more beautiful than can be described, with its seasonal wildflowers and scenic views.
A new golf course and housing development are in the planning stages. These are exciting times for Tuolumne, and it is hoped that an upturn to the local economy and a rebuilding of our historic downtown area are just around the corner.
By supporting our local businesses, and investing in local real estate we are working together to improve our community. Each one of us can make a positive difference in our community's future by becoming interested and involved in making Tuolumne an even better place to live.

Join us for a meeting and share your ideas on improving Tuolumne.
Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellow's Hall on Bay Avenue in Tuolumne.

Together we can make a difference.
